!!!Oberösterreichische Ländergruppe

Oberoesterreichische Laendergruppe (Upper Austrian group of lands). 
During the reign of emperor Maximilian I the Habsburg estates 
were divided into a Lower Austrian group of lands and an Upper 
Austrian group of lands for administrative purposes. The latter 
included Tirol and Vorarlberg as well as the possessions in 
Switzerland and in Swabia extending to Alsace. Later the Upper 
Austrian group of lands (without Tirol) became commonly known under 
the name of "Austrian  Vorlande".
