Ober-Grafendorf, Lower Austria, market town in the district of St. 
Poelten, alt. 280 m, pop. 4,551, area 24.57 km%%sup 2/%, on 
the River Pielach south-west of St. Poelten. - Recreation centre, 
sports facilities, Pielachtalhalle community centre; construction 
industry (e.g. prefabricated building parts), production of switch 
boxes, timber processing. - Parish church, pier-supported basilica 
with 16%%sup th/%  century - vaulting in late Romanesque-Gothic style, 
spire (1756), high altar painting by D. Gran (1756), statues by P. 
Widerin (1742); Fridau castle (1750-1770), triptych with frescoes by 
Gran (1755), chapel (1753).
