Obertauern, province of Salzburg, winter resort in the district of St. 
Johann im Pongau, alt. 1,738 m, located in Taurach valley, on the 
north side of the Radstaedter Tauern mountains, part of the 
municipality of Untertauern (422,165 overnight stays). - Schaidberg 
youth sports centre with youth hostel attached, youth alpine centre, 
road maintenance station, cable way to the Zehnerkar cirque 
(Zehnerkarspitze peak, alt. 2,381 m). - In Banden, Baroque-style 
branch church (1618-1621) by S. Solari; in the Tauernfriedhof cemetery 
gravestones dating back to the 16%%sup th/%  century; on the mountain 
pass, six Roman milestones (3%%sup rd/%  century A.D.); in the 
vicinity Lake Hundsfeldsee and Lake Gruenwaldsee, waterfalls.
