Obertrum am See, province of Salzburg, municipality in the district of
Salzburg Land, alt. 508 m, pop. 4,365 (in 1981 pop. 2,573), area
21.26 km%%sup 2/%, summer resort (33,488 overnight stays) south
of Lake Obertrum, in the Flachgau region. - Concrete drilling
contractor, brewery, wood processing, spice factory, commerce (sports
shoes). - Largely destroyed by fire in 1917, Obertrum has since been
reconstructed. Parish church built in the Middle Ages (aisles
18%%sup th/% century) with western tower in late Gothic style (1499)
and basilica nave (reconstructed from 1917-1920 with Romanesque
elements), sculptures (1929-1935) by J. Adlhart, Baroque altars from
Mattsee, Oberalm, pulpit from Berndorf. Former chapel in the courtyard
of the parish (1744) with paintings in the porch, anniversary chapel
(1898) erected on the occasion of the 50%%sup th/% anniversary of
emperor Franz Joseph´s coronation.
