Offenhausen, Upper Austria, market town in the district of Wels Land, 
alt. 386 m, pop.1,340, area 15.06 km%%sup 2/%, located west 
of Wels. - Building contractors and associated businesses. - 
Renaissance parish church (16%%sup th/%  century) with Baroque 
furnishings and decorative scrollwork, high altar painting by B. 
Altomonte (1754); plague memorial (1649/1650); Wuerting Castle, a 
moated castle in Renaissance style with round towers, magnificent 
extensions in 1610, banquet hall with coffered ceiling (1890-1892), 
circular room in the east tower (around 1610) designed by C. Albertin; 
palace chapel (alterations from 1890-1895). Prehistoric Museum with 
pre-historical exhibits (minerals and fossils from Austria and 
abroad).
