Oggau, Burgenland, market town in the district of Eisenstadt Umgebung, 
alt.130 m, pop.1,876, area 52.19 km%%sup 2/%, summer resort 
and wine-growing region (33,108 overnight stays), located on the 
western shore of Lake Neusiedl. - Seekaserne barracks; reed cutting 
for export. - Archaeological finds dating back to the Bronze Age, 
first documented mention in 1344. Baroque parish church (1727-1731) 
with a Rococo-style shrine; parish courtyard (1795); 2 plague columns 
(1695, 1713); farmsteads located along characteristic lanes termed 
"Hofgassen"; houses decorated with stucco works.
