!!!Olivier, Friedrich von

b. Dessau (Germany), April 23, 1791, 
d. Dessau (Germany), Sept. 5, 1859, landscape painter and painter of 
historical scenes, graphic artist; brother of Heinrich and Ferdinand 
von  Olivier. First studies in Dessau, from 1811 at the Academy in 
Vienna. Travelled in 1818 with J. Schnorr von Carolsfeld to Italy, 
joined the circle of the  Nazarenes around F. Overbeck in Rome and 
worked again in Vienna from 1823. Also portrait painter. From 1829 
assisted J. Schnorr von Carolsfeld with the Nibelung frescos in the 
Munich Residence.
