b. Prague (Czech Republic), July 21, 1870, 
d. Berlin (Germany), Sept. 28, 1932, graphic artist and painter. 
stayed in Vienna 1904/05 (from 1899 member of the Vienna Secession). 
The style of his graphics, which originated from Japanese colour wood 
cuts (emphasis on contour and flatness) had a huge influence on the 
secession style.
