Osterkorn, Thomas, b. Linz (Upper Austria), Dec. 26, 1953, 
journalist. Until 1986 studied law in Hamburg and worked as police 
reporter for the newspaper "Hamburger Abendblatt". From 1986 
employed by the weekly magazine "Stern"; from 1989 head of 
the department "Deutschland aktuell" (Germany today) and 
from 1996 managing editor. In 1999 succeeded M.  Maier as 
co-editor-in-chief of "Stern" (with Andreas Petzold).
