d. Frankfurt am Main, Germany, June 9, 1968, stage and costume 
designer. From 1933 head of the decorations and costume department of 
the Zurich ''Schauspielhaus'', 1948-68 worked for the Vienna 
Burgtheater, the State Opera and the Salzburg Festival as well as for 
other institutions between 1948 and 1968.
