!!!Pöllauberg

Poellauberg, Styria, alt. 754 m, place of pilgrimage north 
east of  Poellau on a spur of Masenberg Mountain. High Gothic 
pilgrimage church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, erected near a well on 
the property of Stubenberg; in 1504 it was incorporated into Poellau 
Abbey. Two-nave hall church (between 1339 and 1374), one of the most 
important Gothic churches in Styria, rich façade with tracery 
and main portal, rich Gothic stone sculptures in the choir, tower, 
roof and furnishing renewed after a fire in 1674, high altar designed 
by R. Horner, statues by M. Schokotnigg, Gothic miracle-working image 
of Saint Mary (around 1480), remodelled in Baroque style, stucco work 
by A. Maderni, wayside shrine from 1673; St. Anna chapel next to 
the church, former Roman chapel rebuilt in 1532 and 1730.
