b. Vienna, March 17, 1851, 
d. Moedling (Lower Austria), Aug. 20, 1914, journalist and feature 
writer, railway civil servant, grandfather of Johannes  Poetzl. From 
1874 editor of the newspaper "Neues Wiener Tagblatt"; master of local 
sketches, wrote humorous sketches in Viennese dialect about Viennese 
life, and with "Herr Nigerl" created a stereotype of the narrow-minded 
Viennese petit bourgeois.
