b. Salzburg, 1464/1465, 
d. Saalfelden (Salzburg), July 19, 1543, theologian. 1508-1526 Bishop 
of Chiemsee, auxiliary bishop and vicar-general of Salzburg. Resigned 
his office, founded a brotherhood of priests in Saalfelden in 1532 and 
a hospital for priests and the poor in 1538. In his writing "Onus 
ecclesiae" (1519) demanded Church reform, his "Tewtsche Theologey" 
(1528) is the first Catholic dogmatic work in German.
