!!!Pabst, Waldemar, von Ohaim

b. Hamburg (Germany), Dec. 24, 1880, 
d. Duesseldorf (Germany), May 29, 1970, officer, leader of the 
Heimwehr (para-military force). After participating in attempts at a 
coup in Germany P. escaped to Tyrol in 1920 and in 1922 became 
provincial leader of the  Heimwehr  there and in 1928 Federal Chief of 
Staff. In 1930 was banished by Schober's government, E. R.  
Starhemberg called him back. 1930/31 P. withdrew from politics and 
moved to Berlin, where in 1933 he intervened between the Austrian 
Heimwehr and German authorities (Reichswehr, "Stahlhelm"). After 1945 
worked as a businessman.
