Pack, Styria, municipality in the district of Voitsberg, alt.
1,116 m, pop. 502, area 39.06 km<SUP>2/<SUP>, mountain
village situated north of the Packsattel pass (alt. 1,169 m). -
Branch of the Graz road maintenance office, Kinderfreunde recreation
home, Pack reservoir (5.4 million m<SUP>3/<SUP>, dam 33.2 m
high, 183 m long; partly in the district of Edelschrott and
partly in Modriach), Pack dam with associated power plant (1929/30,
30 MW); tourism. - Parish church, tower and western wall with
portal in late Gothic style, nave (built after 1766) decorated with
paintings from the Rococo period, organ (1773) by F. Schwarz; castle
(16%%sup th/% century), rebuilt and changed many times, today it
is a rectory.
