d. Vienna, May 2, 1925, astronomist. Discovered 120 planetoids. 1871
head of the navy obsevatory in Pola (Croatia), director of the Vienna
Observatory. With M. Wolf compiled the Wolf-P.-celestial charts. Prize
of the Paris Academy.
