Influential Croatian minority (1991: 857 persons, approx. 32 % of the total population). - Autobahn maintenance agency, seed industry, building industry and trade, production of insulation glass, metal processing, factory outlet ("Fashion Factory") for textile products. - Prehistoric and Roman finds, documented mention in 1268, around 1570 re-settled by Croatians. Parish church (re-opened in 1572), Romanesque east tower with apse, Baroque nave (1716-1718) with hall; sepulchral chapel of the Harrach family (1826); Baroque plague chapel.
