!!!Pernerstorfer, Engelbert

b. Vienna, April 27, 1850, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 6, 1918, politician and journalist, originally 
teacher. First belonged to the German Nationalist circle around G. 
Ritter von  Schoenerer, on his initiative the "German School 
Society"  "Deutscher Schulverein"  came into existence; from 1881 
co-publisher and from 1883 sole editor and publisher of the magazine 
"Deutsche Worte"; 1882 co-author of the German Nationalist  "Linz 
Programme", 1885-1897 and 1901-1918 member of the Reichsrat. From 1896 
member of the Social Democratic Party, and along with his childhood 
friend V.  Adler one of its leaders; represented the German 
Nationalist line of the Austrian Labour Movement; 1907 1st Social 
Democratic vice president of parliament.
