b. Attnang-Puchheim (Upper Austria), July 13, 1921, teacher and 
politician (Austrian Freedom Party, FPOe). 1955-1971 FPOe party 
chairman of Upper Austria, 1958-1978 federal party chairman of the  
Freiheitliche Partei Oesterreichs (Austrian Freedom Party, FPOe), 
1955-1966 member of the Landtag of Upper Austria, 1966-1986 member of 
the Nationalrat, 1970-1986 chairman of the FPOe parliamentary group. 
1992 left the party because of the new FPOe line.
