!!!Peterwardein

Peterwardein (Petrovaradin), since 1945 part of the town of Novi Sad 
(Serbia), on the right bank of the River Danube, from the 16%%sup th/% 
 century onwards the main stronghold of the Austrian monarchy against 
the Ottomans. On August 5, 1716 Prince Eugène won an important 
battle near this fortress.
