b. Ybbs (Lower Austria), Feb. 22, 1683, 
d. Melk (Lower Austria), March 27, 1735, Benedictine, brother of 
Hieronymus  Pez. Monastery librarian, historian in the monastery at 
Melk (from 1700). Travelling with his brother Hieronymus collected 
manuscripts in Benedictine libraries and in many cases saved them for 
posterity.
