b. Vienna, April 17, 1937, car engineer and manager, grandson of F.  
Porsche, son of Louise  Piëch. From 1963-1971 at the Porsche 
company in Stuttgart, 1972-1992 at the Audi company in Ingolstadt. 
From 1975 member of the executive board and in charge of technical 
development; responsible for the technical design of the Audi 80 
and the Audi 100; since 1988 executive chairman of Audi, since 
1993 of the VW group.
