Piccottini, Gernot, b. Villach (Carinthia), March 29, 1941, 
archaeologist. Studied in Vienna; since 1975 director of the Museum of 
the Province of Carinthia and head of excavations at Magdalensberg 
Mountain and at Virunum. University professor in Graz (archaeology of 
Roman provinces und archaeological field research).
