Piesendorf, province of Salzburg, municipality in the district of Zell 
am See, alt. 782 m, pop. 2,997, area 50.93 km%%sup 2/%, 
nucleated village at alluvial cone of the Piesendorf rift valley, 
houses with main parts dating from the 14%%sup th/%  -16%%sup th/%  
centuries, Fuerth and Hummersdorf hamlets with Paarhof-type farmhouses 
(some elements from 16%%sup th/% /17%%sup th/%  centuries). Summer and 
winter tourism, local and regional businesses, gravel and concrete 
works. - Gothic parish church, oldest part, Chapel of St. Michael 
(12%%sup th/% /13%%sup th/%  centuries) with crypt and secco paintings 
(15%%sup th/%  century), annexe (1510-1516), redecorated in Baroque 
style in 1718, re-gothicised in 1851-1854. St. Anthony's chapel 
with Baroque altar (1684).
