Pippal, Hans Robert, b. Vienna, April 4, 1915, d. Vienna, 
Nov. 6, 1998, painter. Became very well-known in the post-war 
years for his book illustrations (e.g. in E. Marboe, Das 
Oesterreich-Buch, 1948) and book jackets; created mosaics for housing 
complexes and religious objets d´art made of enamel, and painted 
portraits and paintings of official occasions.

Burgtheaters (inauguration of the Burgtheater); Eroeffnung der 
Staatsoper (inauguration of the Vienna State opera). - Tapestry: 
Staatsvertrag (Austrian State Treaty). - Portraits in Parliament, in 
the Buergermeistergalerie (gallery of mayors) of the Vienna City Hall, 
and the Rektorengalerie (gallery of rectors) of the University of 
Vienna - Still-lifes, landscapes, city scenes.
