d. Vienna, Dec. 30, 1994, mining and metallurgical engineer. Head of 
the department of research and development at the  Boehler-Werke 
(VEW), from 1966 university professor at the University of Mining and 
Metallurgy in Leoben, 1982-1985 President of the Austrian  Academy of 
Sciences.
