b. Vienna, July 29, 1891, 
d. Vienna, Aug. 30, 1963 (suicide), language teacher and politician 
(Austrian Social Democratic Party, SPOe), wife of Oscar  Pollak. 
1934-1945 in exile, 1945-1959 member of the Nationalrat. Particularly 
active as an SPOe journalist (editor-in-chief of the women´s 
magazine "Die Frau"), was one of the leaders of the women´s 
movement and the workers´ temperance movement.
