!!!Potsdamer Abkommen

Potsdam Agreement, concluded at the summit of the allied powers
(attended by H. S. Truman, J. Stalin, W. Churchill and C. Attlee
in Potsdam from July 17 to August 2, 1945) in preparation of the peace
settlements in Europe after the Second World War. Point 8 of the
Agreement dealt with Austria: "The Conference examined a proposal
by the Soviet Government on the extension of the authority of the
Austrian Provisional Government to all of Austria. The three
governments agreed that they were prepared to examine this question
after the entry of the British and American forces into the city of
Vienna. It was agreed that reparations should not be exacted from
Austria." This led to the recognition of the Provisional State
Government by all the Allies and to the agreement of the 4 allied
powers on the control machinery for the administration of Austria (
Occupation of Austria 1945-1955).
