b. Ottnang am Hausruck (Upper Austria), Jan. 11, 1954, sociologist, 
politician with the Social Democratic Party (SPOe). 1986-1989 worked 
at the vocational training and rehabilitation centre in Linz, 
1989-1991 at the Labour Market Service for Upper Austria. From 
1991-1995 member and second president of the Upper Austrian Landtag, 
1995-1997 Upper Austrian Secretary of Housing, Environmental 
Protection and Police Administration; 1997-2000 appointed Minister of 
Women's Affairs and Consumer Protection, since 1997 Federal Chairwoman 
of the Women's Section of the SPOe, since 1999 member of the 
Nationalrat.
