!!!Prawy, Marcel

b. Vienna, Dec. 29, 1911, music writer and journalist, studied law. 
From 1955 dramatic advisor at the Vienna Volksoper, where he 
introduced the musical in Europe ("Kiss me, Kate", 1956, 
German version by Marcel Prawy); from 1972 head dramaturge of the 
Vienna State Opera. From 1976-1982 professor at the Vienna 
Musikhochschule*; lecturer for theatrical sciences at the University 
of Vienna, guest lecturer at numerous American and Japanese 
universities. Well-known as an opera expert from numerous TV and radio 
programmes; friend of numerous famous singers and musicians (e.g. L. 
Bernstein). Honorary member of the Vienna State Opera.
