b. Innsbruck (Tyrol), March 4, 1796, 
d. Vienna, July 25, 1827, museum expert. 1814 trainee at the Ambras 
collection in the Lower Belvedere palace, 1816 curator of the Mint and 
Antiques Office. With F. H. von der Hagen published an edition of 
heroic songs handed down in the  Ambraser Heldenbuch and thus made the 
 "Kudrun" saga accessible for the first time.
