b. Vienna, March 5, 1943, industrialist and politician (Austrian 
Freedom Party, FPOe). From 1970 worked for the paper factory W.  
Hamburger AG, since 1994 sole managing director. From 1974 chairman of 
several boards of the Austrian Industrialists´ Union. From 
1996-1998 member of the Nationalrat and the Austrian Freedom Party's 
(FPOe) spokesman on economics, since 1999 again member of the 
Nationalrat and its 2%%sup nd/%  president.
