b. Ried im Zillertal (Tyrol), June 28, 1744, 
d. Ried im Zillertal, Jan. 5, 1804, author of an autobiography. Came 
from a poor peasant's family, famous as travelling "Hoftyroler", who 
earned his living as a kind of jester at the princes´ courts. 
After 1789 inn-keeper and farmer in his native village. His 
autobiography "Leben und Ereignisse des P. P. ..." (1789) is an 
important historical document.
