!!!Provisorische Regierung

Provisional Government: a provisional government, consisting of a
concentration of Austria's major political parties, was instituted at
the beginning of both the First Republic and the Second Republic.
The provisional government of the First Republic existed from October
30, 1918 until March 15, 1919, and the provisional government of the
Second Republic from April 27 to December 20, 1945. In both cases the
heads of government had the title State Chancellor, and the ministers
the title of State Secretary, who were assisted by Under State
Secretaries.

\\
The provisional government of the Second Republic was created on April
27, 1945, when fighting was still going on in Vienna, after the three
main parties (OeVP, SPOe, KPOe) came to an agreement as to the
division of ministerial responsibilities (April 23), and, until
October 19, 1945, was only recognised by the Soviet Union. As a result
of the provincial conferences held on September 24/25 and October
9/10, 1945, the provisional government was expanded to include
representatives of the Western provinces which then recognised the
provisional government. On November 25, 1945, the provisional
government held the first general elections, which led to the
formation of the Nationalrat and the Federal Government.
