Röllig lebte ab 1791 in Wien (Bibliothekar an der Hofbibliothek)und  trat auch als Erfinder hervor ("Tastenharmonika" = Glasharmonika mit Tastatur, 1795 "Orphika" = tragbares Klavier bzw. als dessen Weiterentwicklung 1801 die "Xänorphika").
