Raab Railway, 1) initially the name of the  Eastern Railway built 
between 1840 and 1855, from Vienna via Bruck an der Leitha to Raab 
(Gyoer), nationalised in 1909. 2) Popular name for the Raab - 
Oedenburg - Ebenfurth Eisenbahn railway/ROeEE (Gyoer - Sopron - 
Ebenfurti vasút/GySEV), built between 1875 and 1879, a 
privately owned Hungarian railway company, which still operates, on 
Austrian territory, the Sopron - Ebenfurth line and the Lake Neusiedl 
Railway (Neusiedl - Pamhagen - Fertoeszentmiklos) built in 1897; the 
Hamburger Hafen - und Lagerhaus AG Group has been a partner of the 
company since 1997 and handles a substantial amount of its cargo 
traffic with eastern and southeastern Europe via Raab Railways. The 
management of the Austrian branch of ROeEE is located at 
Wulkaprodersdorf.
