!!!Rabenstein, Hinrichtungsstätte

Rabenstein, place of execution in Vienna, a masonry platform with 
gallows, from 1747 located in Rossau (in Vienna's 9%%sup th/%  
district). There, J. G.  Grasel was executed on January 
31, 1818. After 1850 the place of execution was moved to 
Spinnerin am Kreuz (in Vienna's 10%%sup th/%  district), the last 
execution was carried out there in 1868. From 1876 the  death penalty 
was carried out in the Vienna Provincial Court.
