Rabenstein an der Pielach, Lower Austria, market town in the district 
of St. Poelten, alt. 344 m, pop. 2,367, area 
36.25 km%%sup 2/%, in Pielachtal Valley. - Dyes factory, wood 
processing. - Late Gothic parish church, "staggered" hall church, with 
aisles lower than the nave (around 1500), frescoes in the choir from 
the same period; ruins of a castle (documented mention in 1136); 
remains of Romanesque and Gothic towers and buildings. Local heritage 
museum.
