Rainer, Friedrich, b. St. Veit an der Glan (Carinthia), July 28, 
1903, d. Ljubljana (Slovenia, executed), July 19, 1947, studied 
law, politician (NSDAP). From 1930 member of the NSDAP, from 1936 
worked in the NSDAP administration in Austria, March 11 to 13, 1938 
Staatssekretaer in the Seyss-Inquart cabinet. 1938-1941 gauleiter, 
provincial governor and governor of the Reich in Salzburg, 1941-1945 
in Carinthia and the neighbouring areas of Carniola. 1943 supreme 
commissioner in the "Adriatic coastland" zone of operations. On May 8, 
1945 handed over the administration to representatives of the 
democratic parties, was extradited by the British to Yugoslavia on 
March 13, 1947, where he was executed.
