Rameis, Emil, b. Regau (Upper Austria), April 28, 1904, 
d. Linz (Upper Austria), April 22, 1973, kapellmeister. 1923-1932 
and during World War Two, kapellmeister of the military band, 
1932-1954 at the Upper Austrian Landestheater in Linz. Established the 
band of the local Upper Austrian police force, which he directed 
1952-1969, and worked intensively on the history of music for brass 
bands and military music in Austria.
