Ramsau am Dachstein, Styria, municipality in the district of Liezen, 
alt. 1,135 m, pop. 2,343, area 75.40 km%%sup 2/%, 
bi-seasonal tourism (858,326 overnight stays in 1992) situated on a 
plateau south-east of the Dachstein Massif. - Toll gate of the 
Dachsteinstrasse road, Ramsau am Dachstein cable railway 
(Dachsteinsuedwandbahn railway) on the Hunerkogel mountain (alt. 
2,687 m), sledge run (Kulmberg mountain), mountain refuge. Wood 
processing. - Documented mention around 1120, was the centre of the 
Reformation in the Ennstal valley. Roman Catholic parish church with 
Gothic choir (1444), late Romanesque (early 14%%sup th/%  century) and 
Gothic frescoes, Protestant church (consecrated in 1888/1889); 
Bavarian, Salzburg and Tirolean Paarhof farmsteads.
