Ranzoni, Hans, the Elder, b. Vienna, Oct. 18, 1868, 
d. Krems (Lower Austria), June 18, 1956, painter of landscapes and 
architecture. Father of Hans  Ranzoni the Younger; 1919-1921 and 
1930-1937 president of the Kuenstlerhaus in Vienna; from 1944 lived in 
Duernstein and was strongly committed to its conservation and 
protection. P>
