!!!Rapid Wien

Rapid Wien, founded in 1898 under the name "1. Wiener 
Arbeiter-Fussballklub", since 1899 named "Sportklub Rapid 
Wien", club colours are green and white. Austrian record-holder 
champion, by 2000 the club had won 30 Austrian championships, 14 
Austrian cups and three super cups; Rapid Wien won the Central 
European cup (Mitropacup) in 1930, the German cup in 1938, the German 
championship in 1941, the Central European cup (Zentropacup) in 1952, 
it also was a finalist in the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1985 and 
participated in the Champions League in 1996/1997. Throughout the 
history of the Austrian football league, Rapid Wien has always played 
in the first division. Many players for the Austrian National Team 
were Rapid players; famous football stars such as J.  Uridil; P. 
Smistik and many others played in the  Wunderteam; R. Raftl, F.  
Binder, W.  Zeman, E.  Happel, F. Hasil, H.  Krankl and A. Herzog are 
other Rapid members who have also played in the National Team. Since 
1976 the club's sports facilities have been at the Hanappi Stadium in 
Huetteldorf (Vienna), before that the matches had been played on the 
"Pfarrwiese" field for almost 60 years.
