Renker, Gustav, b. Vienna, Oct. 12, 1889, 
d. Langnau (Switzerland), July 23, 1967, novelist, musician and 
composer. Studied music and music history in Vienna (PhD), after World 
War I musical director in Vienna, Graz and Nuremberg, 1931-1945 editor 
of the "Emmentaler-Blatt" in Langnau. Author of novels set mostly in 
the Alpine regions of Austria and can be classed as anti-modern 
provincial literature of the period between World War I and World War 
II.
