Resch, Josef, b. Vienna, Sept. 28, 1880, 
d. Vienna, April 6, 1939, studied law, insurance expert and Christian 
socialist politician. 1919/20 subordinate Staatssekretaer in the 
Public Office for Social Welfare, 1920/21, 1924-1929, 1930/31, 
1931-1933 and 1936-1938 Minister for Social Affairs. stepped down in 
1933 because he was against the abolition of the constitutional state 
following the elimination of the constitutional court. Professor at 
the University of Technology and at the University of World Trade in 
Vienna, 1935 Generalrat (senior official) of the Austrian National 
Bank. publications mainly concerning the importance of social 
security.
