650 m, pop. 578, area 10.24 km%%sup 2/%, bi-seasonal tourism 
(87,484 overnight stays in 1992), situated on the Bregenzerach river, 
south of Bezau, in the Hinterer Bregenzerwald Mountain Region. Spa 
(mud baths); wood construction plant. Parish church (first documented 
mention 1284-1289) with late-Gothic core, alterations 1771-1776, 
frescoes (15%%sup th/%  century).
