Reinhardt, Emil Alphons, b. Vienna, April 4, 1889,
d. concentration camp Dachau, Feb. 25, 1945, poet, narrative writer,
translator. Vienna expressionist, member of the "Akademie Verband fuer
Literatur und Musik", 1918 editor of the periodical "Daimon",
1920-1924 reader for "3-Masken" publishers in Munich; then lived in
Italy and France. After the Anschluss founded together with F.
Werfel, R. Musil and B. Walter the "Liga fuer das geistige
Oesterrerich" in Paris; arrested by the Gestapo in April 1943. In his
poems he followed the pictorial language of the symbolism, later wrote
biographies ("Josephine", 1932).
