Ried, Hans, 
d. 1516, from 1496 documented as scribe of emperor  Maximilian I 
(documented mention from 1496), from Feb. 7, 1500 customs official at 
Eisack near Bolzano/Bozen (South Tyrol). 1504-1516 commissioned by 
Maximilian to write the  Ambraser Heldenbuch (from 1508 his sole 
occupation).
