Robert, Julius, b. Himberg (Lower Austria), June 4, 1826, 
d. Zidlochovice, Czech Republic (then Grossseelowitz), Feb. 9, 1888, 
chemist, industrialist. Son of the sugar manufacturer Florentin R. 
(1795-1870). 1865 developed a new diffusion method for the extraction 
of syrup from sugar beet and introduced the steam plough at his model 
farm in Moravia in 1871.
