!!!Rockenschaub, Gerwald

Rockenschaub, Gerwald, b. Linz (Upper Austria), May 9, 1952, 
painter. Studied at the Hochschule fuer angewandte Kunst (now 
University of Applied Art) in Vienna with H. Tasquil; his first major 
exhibition was with H.  Brandl in 1981 in the Forum Stadtpark in Graz. 
Regarded as one of the most successful contemporary Austrian painters; 
1993 represented Austria at the Biennale in Venice. The relationship 
between the work of art and the real environment in which it is 
exhibited is an important aspect of R.´s work.
